The nation’s creative minds have done the country proud. They have stood up to condemn the rising attack on freedom of expression, the worst manifestation of which was the killing of Prof M. M. Kalburgi who was murdered by extremists. Irrespective of the language and the state creative minds have registered a powerful protest against this poisonous atmosphere of intolerance. Even eminent institution like ‘Sahitya Akademi’ did not respond to the killing of one of its awardees and a former member of its Council. By returning the awards bestowed on them and by resigning from the positions they hold in the Akademi, they along with eminent educationists, academicians, historians, social scientists, scientists, film directors and intelligentsia of various domains of art, literature and culture have also spoken out against the growing attacks on plurality and cultural diversity by the fundamental, communal forces.
The reputation of the Parbo Kagoj , a miltifeatured magazine, its editor and editorial board gives us an indication of the quality of the journal. The scope and focus of the journal is good , as the article reaches the readers who can most benefit from it.
The scope and aim of the journal gives an indication of who the journal’s readers are, e.g. national or international, limited to a select area of research or with a multidisciplinary focus. The articles submitted by the researchers also suit the style of the journal.
The Average length of time from submission to acceptance or rejection; from acceptance to publication is well maintained, and the Frequency of publication is such so as to be included in prominent indexes.
The number of years the journal has been around can be an indication of its stability and its interest to academia.
Editorial standards / Journal information
As the journal accepts electronic submissions, this simplifies the submission process, allows swift management of manuscripts and makes it possible for authors to track the position of their manuscripts in the review process.
The acceptance rate gives an indication of how competitive a journal is. Journals with a low acceptance rate are considered to be amongst the most prestigious in their field, the assumption being that only the very best articles are selected.
The cost of the journal is reasonable. I wish all success to Parbo kagaj.
